INVITATION OF TENDER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
ARABIE WEST BULK WATER SUPPLY
Tenders are hereby invited for the supply of all labour, materials and equipment for the construction of a bulk water supply pipeline in the Greater marble Hall Municipality on the western bank of the Olifants River. The works will be constructed under RDP principles using labour intensive construction methods where possible. Conventional construction methods may be used if specified in the project specifications.
The Works consists of: 18km of 250, 200, 150 and 75mm diameter bulk water pipeline associated manholes.
Tender documents will be available from 16 March 2001 from the offices of Waterberg District Municipality and the Greater Marble Hall Municipality.
Tender documents can be allocated on the payment of a non-refundable deposit of R50-00.
Cheques must be made payable to the “Waterberg District Municipality”.
A compulsory site inspection will be held on Monday, 19 March 2001 at 10:00. Tenderers are requested to meet the Engineer at the old Middle Lepelle TLC offices in the village of Elandskraal. A map showing directions to the site shall be supplied on request. Tenderers must be represented at the site inspection by a person who is suitably qualified and experienced to comprehend the implications of the work involved.
If the tenderer or his representative does not attend the site inspection, the tender will be disqualified.
Tenderers are to arrange their own transport.
Completed tender documents, sealed in an envelope marked:
“CONTRACT NO. WDM2001/009/W/ML: ARABIE WEST REGIONAL BULK WATER SUPPLY – PHASE I” must be deposited in the tender box, GREATER MARBLE HALL MUNICIPALITY OFFICES, Marble Hall, not later than Wednesday 12:00 on 4 April 2001.

Tenders will be adjudicated in accordance with the “Preferential Procurement Policy Act” (Act 5 of 2000).
In terms of section 2(1)(e) of said Act proof of the following must be submitted with the tender:
· PDI (Previously Disadvantaged Person) status
· Woman Disabled
· Locality of business
In addition to the above proof must be submitted that the contractor is registered with the South African Revenue Services (SARS).
Telegraphic, telefax or e-mail tenders will not be accepted.
The Council is not bound to accept the lowest or any tender and also may subdivide the tender.
