7. CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT
The works required will be done according to the standards set out in the document AMinimum Standards and Guidelines for Groundwater Resource Development for the Community Water Supply and Sanitation Programme@ by Department of Water Affairs and Forestry, First Edition April 1997 (copy can be obtained from WSM Civil Engineers, Hydrogeologists and Project Managers). The contractors must be fully acquainted with details outlined in this documents.
All sections to be completed in full.
Quantities given are estimated and final number of boreholes to be drilled or test pumped will be determined on site depending on results.
Should the tenderer wish to make use of sub contractors, then such firms must be reputable and capable to perform the said works. These firms must also be registered and approved by DWAF. A list of hydrogeological contractors are obtainable from DWAF, Directorate Geohydrology, Northern Province Region. The consultant must be informed in writing beforehand should the tenderer wish to make use of any sub contractor.
This tender document is for the drilling and test pumping of water boreholes. It is anticipated that the successful tenderer will be required to establish 1 drilling rig and 1 test pumping rig to site. Should the tenderer not have the available resources, then the implementing authority and executive agency must be notified accordingly. Also that the drilling and test pumping tender may be awarded to separate contractors. The tenderer may submit prices for either drilling or test pumping or both.
The timing of this work is of critical importance and the establishment of equipment to site is of extreme importance. Should the successful tenderer not be on site within seven (7) days upon written notification, then the implementing authority reserves the right to appoint another contractor for the work outlined in this document. Any difference in price will be at the expense of the successful tenderer.
Payment will be made (1) either directly from the client or (2) once payment has been received from the client.
